Australia
Australia has enjoyed a relatively low and declining unemployement rate. However, under a system where one hour of income-producing activity per week is counted as employment, there is a high incidence of underemloyment and an expansion of the informal economy. The number of women in part-time and casual jobs is double that of men. Although there has been an overall increase in real wage growth, there is a presistant 15 point gender wage gap with women on the low end.
