Country reports

Colombia
In Colombia, given the relevant indicators, it is impossible to talk of social justice, liberty or equality without first talking about poverty; nothing could be more urgent and critical to public policy than an effective strategy to tackle this humanitarian crisis. This situation is organically linked to, among other factors: high levels of unemployment, low wages and high instability for the working population, and an overall structural inequality leading to unequal distribution of wealth and property. While the economy grows at a rate of about 4%, employment grows at under 1%. The economy may be growing, but it is not creating new jobs.
