Development, Trade and Labor Rights in Sub-Saharan Africa
Is investment in the garment industry in Africa a helpful development tool? The Africa Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) has, since 2000, provided free access to the U.S. market for specified goods produced or processed in the poorest African countries. ANSA: Alternatives to Neo-Liberalism in Southern Africa
The Alternatives to Neo-Liberalism in Southern Africa (ANSA) initiative of the labour movement of the region has published a book that provides the building blocks for a common perspective on alternative policies and strategies in Southern Africa, which can bring about people driven, sustainable, human development. Revisiting NAFTA: Still not working for North America's workers
When it was passed in 1994, the North American Free Trade Agreement was sold to the people of each nation on the promise that it would bring large net benefits in better jobs and faster growth. Twelve years later, it is clear that the costs to workers outweighed the benefits in the United States, Mexico, and Canada. In a new, three-country report, Revisiting NAFTA examines the impact the trade agreement has had so far on the distribution of income, wealth, and political power in each of these nations.

Workforce Development Study: A study commissioned by the Ford Foundation that examines the factors that destroy or create good jobs.
